A Tent City price can look much lower or higher than a hotel price simply because the two amounts describe different things. First identify the unit: per person, per room, per night or for a complete stay.
Use this guide alongside our Tent City stay choices. The calculations below are examples only, not live rates or a booking offer.
What “per person, twin sharing” means
A per-person twin-sharing rate assumes two guests share the accommodation. If a quote says ₹5,000 per person per night on that basis, the example cost for two adults for one night is ₹10,000 before any separately stated taxes or extras.
For two nights at the same example rate, two adults would pay 2 × 2 × ₹5,000 = ₹20,000. That calculation works only if the same rate applies on both nights. Different dates, room categories and inclusions may change the quote.
How a per-room price differs
A room rate is charged for the room at the specified occupancy. If the example rate is ₹8,000 per room per night for two adults, two adults staying two nights would have a room subtotal of ₹16,000. Do not multiply that price by two guests again.
Check whether meals, tickets and transfers are included in that room subtotal. A room-only figure and a stay with meals and sightseeing are different products, even if the accommodation looks similar.
Do not multiply a full-stay price by nights again
If the quote gives a single total for a two-night package, it may already cover both nights. Ask for the full total for your group. Labels such as “two nights / three days” describe the trip length; they do not tell you whether the displayed amount is per guest or per room.
What changes when children or extra adults travel?
Ask the property to price the exact ages and bedding arrangement. A child sharing existing bedding may be treated differently from a child needing an extra mattress. An extra adult can also affect both room occupancy and meal charges. Avoid assuming an advertised couple rate will cover a family of four.
Single occupancy needs its own quote too. A twin-sharing amount does not automatically become the single guest's final price when no second traveller is coming.
Match the plans before comparing the totals
Build a short list of what each quote includes: accommodation category, nights, breakfast, other meals, named attraction tickets and pickup/drop. Tent City 1 publishes separate plan categories, so the property name itself does not establish which services you receive. Use the written inclusions for your selected dates.

A simple comparison worksheet
- Travellers: adults, children and ages.
- Stay: dates, nights, property and room category.
- Price unit: per person, per room, per night or complete stay.
- Included services: meals, named tickets and transfers.
- Extras: additional bedding, applicable taxes and date-specific supplements.
- Decision figure: the final total for everyone travelling.
Ask for the final line in writing. Comparing that figure alongside the inclusions is more useful than comparing two starting prices with different assumptions.
What to send for an accurate quote
Share your dates, adults, children's ages, preferred Tent City and room choice. Mention your arrival point and whether you want attraction tickets arranged with the stay. Your travel team can then compare like-for-like plans and explain what changes the total.
